How was your weekend?

The weekend is over already? I swear it was Monday like 5 seconds ago. Ok new week, let’s do this. But before I am ready for you, let’s look back to the weekend first.

26909292_1591413390947326_105795224_oFriday around weekend o’clock many people showed up at my place for some games. We played zombies, what do you meme, chug and bus driver. Before we realised it was already 11 pm, which means less games and more club. So we moved to Roxy and danced the night away.

Good morning afternoon, time to get up and go to the PNE. There we watched a lot of light sculptures during the Chinese Lantern Festival. We walked around for two hours, ate some food and watched a lot of performances. After the festival, we headed over to the bourbon for more games.

I hope your weekend was a good one too. Tell me all about it next PuB NiGHT at the Blarney Stone. See you there!

What to do on the weekend?

It is finally Friday and that means that after a long week of working you only have a few hours to go till you can celebrate your weekend. Since Vancouver is such a big city that also means that there is a lot going on this weekend. So to help you a bit you can use this blog post to fill in your amazing weekend.

This whole weekend there is the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE), which is Vancouver’s annual summer fair with amusement, rides, shows, vendor markets and live music. Each night there is a different band playing. A ticket for the fair will cost you $14 if you buy your tickets online otherwise it will be $17 at the gate. They also have a special After Dark Gate Pass which you can get after 9 pm which will cost you only $5. The fair takes place in Playland.

If you like creepier things then Saturday is the day you have to visit the Vancouver Zombie Walk. This is an informal parade of people in zombie costumes. All the participants meet at 3 pm outside the Vancouver Art Gallery and will start walking from Robson Street to English Bay at 4 pm.

On Sunday the Vancouver Canadians play a match against Boise Hawks, so if you like baseball you can check that out as well. We all hope you will have an amazing weekend and of course we hope to see you at the next PuB NiGHT

INTERNeX Toronto: Toronto Zombie Walk!

I’ve got a question for you: What kind of streets do zombies like best? ………… a DEAD end!

Okay fine, that was a horrible joke that I found off Google, but there is exactly two weeks left til’ Halloween! Watching an abundance of horror movies lately have led me to thinking how it would be like if a zombie apocalypse actually happened in the very streets of your my city? Being stuck in a dead end would be quite awful.

This Saturday at the Toronto Zombie Walk, you can re-create the terror you’ve seen in 28 Days Later or Resident Evil and try to stay uneaten while zombies weave their way through downtown Toronto. Or, you can become one of the 7000 corpses staggering through the streets in trying to find humans to feast on.

Started by a small group of friends in 2003, this year is the 10th anniversary of the Toronto Zombie Walk. Not only has it been a massive success in Toronto, but the zombie plague has also caught on in other cities such as New York, Vancouver, Ottawa and Melbourne.

This is a completely FREE event, and what is a better way to get into the Halloween spirit than by dressing up and acting like a crazy delusional zombie. Where else can you do this with thousands of people? Register here to be entered for a draw afterwards! This is a full day event, with live band performances afterwards.

When? Saturday, October 20th 2012

Where? Nathan Phillips Square
100 Queen Street West
Bay Street and Queen Street West
Map to this event

How to get there? Public Transit: Osgoode or Queen Subway Station
TTC Trip Planner

Take a look at last year’s event and for some inspiration for your zombie attire!

Cheers,

Queenie
