Sunshine, white water rafting, camping – what more could you ask for on this beautiful weekend?! ☀️

On Friday morning we started our journey to Chilliwack for our 2 day camping trip! Did you know you can get to Chilliwack via public transit? We did, using the Fraser Valley Express bus and it was… interesting lol. We obviously ad ti bring all our camping gear, so we had a sleeping bag and mat each as well as clothes and a tent! We looked like we were moving lol!
In Chilliwack we were picked up by a shuttle in the form of an old school bus, which was already pretty cool. Arriving at the camping site, we immediately started building our tent… of course we totally did it in 15 minutes like the packaging says… and we didn’t take almost 1 hour because it was so hard to hammer the stakes for the tent into the ground. We did finish before lunch though! 😌
After we ate we had a short intro and then we headed out to go white water rafting! We had to put on full on wet suits and life vests and then we headed down the river. The first few metres were a little scary but soooo much fun! We had a guide with us who constantly gave us instructions, so we didn’t really have to do anything expect listen to her. At about half the way we had a little stop and went to a waterfall, which you can only access from the river! We took some awesome pictures there and we were even allowed to take a shower under the waterfall! It was such cool experience! 🤩
The rest of the rafting adventure was even more intense and at some point we all jumped off the boat into the water to go for a little swim because the water was deep enough. We arrived back at the camping ground and had dinner after enjoying some more time by the beach. The weather was literally everything we could’ve wished for – blue skies, sunshine and 27º!

In the evening we made our own campfire and played a few card games while having some hot chocolate. 🤗 On the camping ground there were also a bunch of animals that were very adorable and entertaining lol! They had two guard dogs that we technically weren’t supposed to pet, but I mean… how can you say no to those cute puppies? 🥺 There was also a little cat that was very cuddly and a sheep that we were able to pet as well. :))
On Saturday we had breakfast, packed up our stuff and our tent and then we made our way back to Vancouver!

How was your weekend? Did you also enjoy the nice weather? Did you maybe watch the first Stanley Cup finals game? Make sure to tell me all about it next pub night!

Toodles!
