What to do on the weekend?

The first weekend of May is around the corner! Are you ready yet? Well if you’re still looking for something to do, keep on reading cause I have some awesome suggestions for you! 😄

First off, you can join INTERNeX on Saturday where we’re going to watch a Whitecaps football game (or soccer for all you North Americans). Since most of us are European, we’ve kinda missed watching some games, so we thought why not go watch the Vancouver team! The tickets are actually not that expensive, around $36 each! We’re super excited and if you’re a fan of sports, you should definitely join as well!

Another thing that might be interesting to you if you’re a sports fan are the NHL playoffs that are currently happening. The Vancouver Canucks are still in the first round, but they only need one more win to go into the second round where they’ll have to play the Edmonton Oilers. The next game is today (Friday) at 4pm! The Canucks are actually hosting another public viewing event at Rogers Arena where you can watch the game together with lots of fans in the stadium! Tickets are only $15 and I feel like this is such a fun event where everyone can come together and celebrate with each other! Unfortunately, tickets are almost sold out already, but don’t worry there’s more awesome spots you can go to to watch the game! You can go to a bar with a couple of friends and watch the game there – I think literally every single bar in Vancouver is showing the games lol! Some of them even have huge screens and you watch the game together with other fans as well!

If you’re not really into sports, don’t worry I have some other ideas for you as well! Saturday is supposed to be fairly good weather, so I suggest going for a walk or hike! As most of you might know, my favourites for a more relaxed walk are Stanley Park, Queen Elizabeth Park and Lighthouse Park! They’re all incredible options and all of them are super close to downtown. To be fair, Lighthouse Park is a little further out, but the views from there are amazing! It’s probably my favourite sunset spot in Vancouver cause it’s right by the water!
If you’re looking for more of a challenging hike, I suggest Lynn Canyon, Grouse Mountain, or Deep Cove. They all have amazing hiking trails, and especially Grouse and Deep Cove have awesome viewpoints! Of course at Lynn Canyon there’s the suspension bridge, which is always fun to see and makes for some great pictures!

Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have lots of fun and are able to enjoy the weekend! Fingers crossed for the Canucks and the Whitecaps!!

How was the weekend?

This past weekend was… full of surprises to say the least lol! Let me tell you all about it!

So as you probably know, we were supposed to go whale watching this past Saturday! Even though it was supposed to be a little rainy, we were still super excited! However, on Saturday morning we got a mail that said whale watching was cancelled because of poor marine weather conditions. Of course we’re able to reschedule though, so I think we’re doing whale watching in 2 weeks! I’ll keep you posted!

On Sunday we were able to go to Vancouver Fashion Week! We actually got some free tickets and we went on the last show! It was three sets of three designers with breaks in between and you’re not gonna believe it, but Renée, one of our INTERNeXers was actually in the show! Like as a model! She’s doing an internship at the Fashion Week, so she was asked the morning of the show, if she’d be able to model for one of the designers! She did an incredible job and it was so cool to see someone we know on the catwalk! 😀 The very last designer, Eduardo Ramos, seemed to be the one everyone was most excited about and he did not disappoint! The show was not just a normal one where a few models walk and show off his design, but in the end, there was one model who did a whole performance, dancing and running and it was very interesting. It was such a unique experience and I’m so glad he decided to do something different. It was honesty a breath of fresh air and we all really enjoyed it!

What did you do this past weekend? Were you able to escape the rain? Maybe you enjoyed some time at a museum? Make sure to tell me all about it next Pub Night!

What to do on the weekend?

Are y’all ready for the weekend yet? Unfortunately, the weather is not looking as good as the beginning of this week, but I still have some really awesome ideas for you!

First up, you could join INTERNeX on our whale watching trip!! 🤩 Were gonna go this Saturday and we’re actually going with one of the only companies that can enter both Canadian and US waters. They also have a guarantee that if we don’t see any whales, we can go on another tour for free! We’re all really excited to get out there and see some awesome whales! This is definitely a very special experience that Vancouver is really known for, so if you’re thinking about it… DO IT! It’s such a fun and unique experience!

Besides that you can also join INTERNeX for the Vancouver Fashion Week! It’s currently happening this week and we’re gonna check it out on Sunday! I believe it’s the last day of this Fashion Week, so it should be pretty fun. As some you you might remember, we went to the Fashion Week last year too (I think it was in October?) and it was super cool! Obviously, it’s not the biggest Fashion Week, but it’s still super cool to see all the designs and I actually quite like that it’s a little smaller, because we were able to sit literally right by the catwalk.

If neither of these are of interest to you, I suggest Granville Island. Its supposed to be pretty rainy this weekend and Granville Island is a very beloved attraction for rainy days. You should definitely check out the Public Market while you’re there and there’s soooo many cute shops where you can buy awesome gifts/souvenirs. Most of them are in small malls and there’s roofs everywhere (which is why it’s such a famous rainy day destination). Also, the Granville Island Neon Sign is under a giant bridge and it makes for some awesome photos, even if there’s rain!
If you’re into Comedy, you might also wanna check out The Improv Centre! They have a bunch of different comedy shows during the week and on weekends and I always love them so much. INTERNeX has actually been to quite a few improv shows before and they’re always super funny and an incredibly unique experience!

Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have lots of fun and are able to enjoy Vancouver despite the rain. Honestly, it’s part of the Canadian/Vancouver experience, so enjoy it lol!

What to do on the weekend?

Are y’all excited for this weekend? It’s supposed to be pretty warm but not as sunny as the past few days. If you’re still looking for some ideas on what you can do, you’re in luck because I have some awesome suggestions for you!

Firstly, you can follow along for INTERNeX’s trip to Sasquatch Mountain! We’re super excited to spend the weekend in a cabin on the mountain and we actually have a private hot tub as well! 😄 We’re gonna play a bunch of super fun games and hang out! At Sasquatch there’s a bunch of awesome hiking trails that we’ll also be checking out. But not only do we have our own cabin, we also have our own car!! This means that we can also check out some things in the area – like Harrison Hot Springs! There’s actually a tulip festival there at the moment that we’re gonna go to! There’s an entire field full of tulips, which is probably THE spot for awesome pictures! We’re super excited for this trip and I cannot wait to tell you about it next Monday!! 😊

If you’re staying in Vancouver, I suggest going for a hike or walk and enjoying the sunshine! My favourite spots are Stanley Park and Lighthouse Park if you want a more relaxing walk and those are also awesome spots for sunsets!! If you’re looking for a bit more of a challenge, I suggest hiking one of the local mountains! You can check out Grouse Mountain, Burnaby Mountain or Cypress Mountain. They all have some pretty high-impact trails and the views are incredible and 100% worth it! There’s also Deep Cove and Mount Seymour. which little harder to access, but Deep Cove is for sure manageable via public transit!

Another great thing to do in Vancouver when the sun’s out is grabbing a drink and a snack – maybe at Tim Hortons for the real Canadian experience lol – and sitting outside. One of my favourite spots is Robson Square or Gastown. There’s actually a bunch of cafés in Gastown that are definitely worth checking out. You could also go to a beach and get ready for summer. There’s Sunset Beach, English Bay and Second Beach, which is great if you’re already in Stanley Park. They actually have drumming circles on second beach, so if you’re interested definitely check that put!

Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have lots of fun and are able to enjoy the nice weather. I can’t wait to hear about your awesome weekends next Pub Night!

What to do on the weekend?

Are y’all excited for the long weekend? This one is actually gonna be suuuuper long lol since Friday and Monday are both holidays! So if you’re still not sure on what to do, don’t worry I got you covered! Here are some awesome ideas!

First up, it’s Easter weekend, so you could join INTERNeX for a visit to the bunny café! 😀 They actually work together with Rabbitats and the bunnies are adoptable. I feel like Easter is the perfect time to visit these adorable Easter bunnies! 🙂 There’s different options for how long you can cuddle the bunnies and what kinds of snacks you can give them. They’re also an actual ‘café’ so you can also grab some drinks and snacks while you’re there!

Another thing that’s happening this weekend is the Cherry Blossom Festival at David Lam Park. INTERNeX is gonna go there on Saturday as well! This weekend is actually the start of it and it goes until the end of April. At the park, there’s a bunch of cherry trees that are blooming right now and let me tell you: this spot makes for some awesome pictures! Additionally, they also have “Cherry Blossoms After Dark” this weekend, so you can stay a little longer and admire all the beautiful trees after sunset!

The rest of the weekend until Monday is supposed to be really good weather, so I suggest going for a walk or hike! My favourites are Stanley Park, Lynn Canyon or Lighthouse Park (the best spot for sunsets)! All of these are not quite as difficult and perfect if you don’t have much time. If you’re looking for a bit more of a challenge though, I suggest Grouse Mountain, Deep Cove or Burnaby Mountain. They all have some pretty challenging hiking trails, but Deep Cove and Burnaby Mountain have some easier ones as well. They all have insanely beautiful views though!! Grouse Mountain and Burnaby Mountain both look at downtown but from opposite directions! From Grouse Mountain you see the coast, Stanley Park and the western part of Downtown Vancouver and from Burnaby Mountain you see the Vancouver Skyline, Stanley Park, and both the Lions Gate Bridge and the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge. Deep Cove has a really nice viewpoint called “Quarry Rock” as well, from which you can see the Simon Fraser University, the Burnaby Skyline and all of Deep Cove.

Whatever you decide to do, I hope you have fun and are able to enjoy the nice weather! Hopefully I’ll see you at one of our events and I can’t wait to hear about your weekend next Pub Night!
